Saint John's imposing granite and cast stone building anchors one end of the business district at the corner of East Main & Dock Streets in downtown Schuylkill Haven. Founded in 1862 as a German Reformed congregation, we are historically affiliated with the United Church of Christ.

Where can I park when visiting Saint John's?

A small parking lot is located on the east side of the church. You will also find ample on-street parking on East Main Street and Dock Street. Parking is also available (Sunday mornings only) in the parking lot at Suglia's Restaurant accessed from River Street.
Where do I enter and where do I go?

You may enter through the East or West Entrance doors on the front of the building where a friendly greeter will welcome you.. Wayfaring signs are also located throughout the building to assist you.
Is the church building accessible to those with disabilities?

Saint John's is an accessible facility. Reserved parking spaces are available in the parking lot adjacent to the church building and directly in front of the church on East Main Street. Access ramps are located at the West Entrance to Level One and at the River Street Entrance to the Ground Level. An elevator can be found inside the West Entrance. Accessible seating is available in the Sanctuary and our restrooms are also accessible. Please speak to a greeter or usher if you need assistance.

Our worship style is "casual traditional". We sing a variety of hymns, use an order of worship, and follow the Revised Common Lectionary (traditional scriptures and church seasons). We attempt to balance this structure with a more relaxed approach to worship.

How do I become a member of Saint John's?

Membership at Saint John's can be obtained by Letter of Transfer for those who are in good standing in a Christian Church. Adult confirmation and new member orientation is scheduled as needed. Contact the Church Office for additional information.
