Text Box: 2012 MARKS THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF SAINT JOHN’S CHURCH ! “The tree grew great and strong, its top reached to heaven, and it was visible to the ends of the whole earth. Its foliage was beautiful, its fruit abundant, and it provided food for all. The animals of the field found shade under it, the birds of the air nested in its branches, and from it all living beings were fed.” ~ ~ Daniel 4: 11-12 Our anniversary theme is based on Daniel 4: 11-12 and incorporates the logo above as well as a large tree sculpture placed in the Sanctuary that will grow throughout 2012 as leaves and brances are added to celebrate our history and ministry! ANNIVERSARY EVENTS The Anniversary Celebration Team (ACT) has been planning many exciting activities to be held trhoughout 2012! Mark your calendar now! Sunday, February 12 - Youth Sunday Service Debt Liquidation Celebration Summer 2012 - Church History Class during Sunday School Sunday, August 12 - “Old Fashioned Sunday” Sunday, October 28 - Homecoming Service & Banquet Sunday, December 16 - Handel’s “Messiah” by combined choir OTHER ANNIVERSARY ACTIVITES Anniversary Moment every Sunday during worship Historic display of church memorabilia in Room #102 Special keepsakes sold by the Parish Development Team Mission project involving the entire congregation! ANNIVERSARY FUNDRAISERS Our next fundraiser to offset the cost of the celebration will be held in February. Please support our Anniversary Celebration Team!
